Back to Unity…
As a team of churches, we can work together to encourage and help support each other. For instance, some smaller churches have need of help with music, worship services, children’s ministry, youth ministry, clergy backup, or more. Others churches have multiple worship teams, clergy or groups that want to get involved and are looking for a place to serve. Imagine joining youth groups together for fellowship, sending some of your worship team to a neighboring church because they don’t have one, sharing church resources like Sunday school curriculum or a barter and trade system for church facility items. ...check out the message board at church connect for a listing of needs and offerings.
Looking Ahead…
So many who have attended the Christmas Dinners have asked for follow up from clergy or a Christian friend. They are hungry for a church home of their own and are looking for a place to belong. Kalamazoo Refuge Ministry hopes to connect these people with churches in the downtown area by coordinating an interdenominational church team which would provide weekly worship services followed by a fellowship meal. Each participating church would be represented by “ambassadors” from their congregation who would be willing to fellowship with and host those looking for a new home church. Contact Kalamazoo Refuge Ministry if you would like to learn more about this exciting outreach opportunity!
Another project that Kalamazoo Refuge Ministry looks forward to coordinating is that of providing a shelter/shelters in Kalamazoo that would give short term help and restoration to those in need. These shelters would be for and supported by the body of Christ. (U Turn For Christ?)
